My teeth!

Caylin's second tooth finally popped through a couple of days ago. The first one came through a couple of weeks ago, and I could have sworn that the second one was right behind it. Well, two weeks later it finally appeared. I haven't managed to get any pictures yet, but she looks so cute with them. My favorite part is that every once in a while I find her with her tongue hanging out of her mouth, and she is really moving it back and forth over her teeth, trying to figure out what is in there. She's already managed to put quite a few teeth marks in the coffee table, which I am hoping I can eventually cover up with a magic marker or something.

Caylin also started clapping last week, although it's only a one-handed clap for the time being. She holds her right hand still while she claps with her left. I'm hoping eventually that right hand will come around!

The Witches

Last week we went with all of Caylin's cousins to see the witches at Gardner Village before they were put away for the season. Caylin got a kick out of them, and wanted to grab and touch them. She liked seeing the ducks as well, and also just watching all her cousins run around and have a good time.

Splish Splash

Bath time is Caylin's favorite time of the day. She gets so excited when the water starts running and she realizes what is about to happen. Even if she was fussy and unhappy before, as soon as the bath starts, she is all smiles. When she gets in, she could stay there all night if we would let her!

Quite a scary Halloween

My cute little bunny!

Halloween morning, Caylin decided she would give us the biggest scare of our lives. She woke up around 4 and I went in and fed her, although she wasn't going back to sleep. I put her back in her crib even though she wasn't asleep, knowing that eventually she would succumb. I could hear her playing around in there on the monitor as I drifted back to sleep. All of a sudden I heard a thud and my heart jumped. I knew exactly what had happened as I raced in to find her face down on the floor in front of her crib. I screamed and turned her over, luckily to find her crying and moving. Colby came in all in a panic because he had no idea what was going on. I was scared to death not knowing if she was hurt or anything was broken, and all she wanted to do was nurse. We turned the lights on and checked her all over and made her sit and crawl and anything else we could think of to see if she was alright. Everything seemed to be fine, but needless to say I was a total mess. Caylin slept in our bed with us the rest of the night, but I hardly slept because I was too scared that if I didn't keep an eye on her something would happen.

The next morning I called the Pediatrician and told them what had happened and asked them what to look for. From what I could tell, Caylin was just fine. Don't worry, lowering the crib was next thing I did.

I am assuming that Caylin saw the nightlight on the monitor that is on a bookshelf next to the crib and reached for it. That is the first time I know of that she was able to pull herself up on her crib.
Looking back on what happened and realizing all that really could have gone wrong, I am so grateful that nothing did. If her intention really was to give us a Halloween scare, she sure succeeded!

That night she got a kick out of watching all the kids walking around in their costumes!

Colby is supposed to be a cowboy (with a really bad wig!)

Just Chillin'

Caylin likes to watch TV whenever she can, although I try not to let her watch too much in fear she'll turn out to be a couch potato. Anyway, the other day I came in and found she and daddy kicked back and watching football. She looks like she's comfy!

Caylin loves to have her feet up on things - even in her high chair!
